On Call Residential Care Position


English Rose Suites is searching for ON CALL Home Health Aides/CNAs to join our team supporting our Residential Care (Class F) business.

  • Currently we have open positions on the NOC shift.
    The NOC shift is from 10:00 pm - 6:00 am.
  • This is an on-call position and requires working on weekdays and weekends.
  • This position requires working every other holiday.

JOB SUMMARY high-level overview of the critical few tasks of the position

The Caregiver delivers resident care and performs basic procedures for an assigned group of residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Caregiver assists residents with activities such as eating, walking and personal hygiene. The Caregiver records and reports resident care monitoring such as vital signs, resident safety rounds, meal consumption, bowel and sleep patterns and assists with all ADL's, medication administration and activities hands on. She/he maintains competency/skills including the ability to provide care to special resident populations and residents with diverse cultural backgrounds. He/she can identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment; and provide care to residents with consideration of developmental milestones in the adult and geriatric resident population. In addition, the Caregiver is a universal worker leading activities, performing housekeeping and meal preparation tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS physical abilities essential to perform the job

  • Walking up to 8 hours with breaks
  • Standing up to 8 hours with breaks
  • Bending frequently per 7-8 hour shift
  • Lifting , pulling and pushing 50 lbs. or more, frequently per 7 - 8 hour shift

WORK ENVIRONMENT work environments, hazards and exposures the employee may encounter on the job

Active resident care activities, both indoor and outdoor. Transportation of residents on occasion.

QUALIFICATIONS minimum job criteria including educational requirements, licensure, registration, certification and experience and equivalencies

Education: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or have completed approved courses in personal care.

Experience: Must have at least six months experience in a similar care setting. HHA or NA certification is required.

Must successfully complete all new employee background studies including I-9, criminal background checks, tuberculosis screening and reference checks.

Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to communicate medical and care information effectively using the English language, especially regarding a potential medical crisis.

Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and appearance of work area.

Must possess a valid driver's license.
