Integrity, dignity, trust and respect. These are the foundations for English Rose Suites’ unique, individualized memory care model – and values the team lives by every day. As the Director of Marketing & PR, Catherine Clairmont says she is proud to support and share her team’s dedication to always doing the right thing for residents and their families.

“This is home for our residents, and we’re an extension of their family,” says Catherine. “We cherish and honor each resident for who they are, getting to know their life stories, their past, their hobbies and interests, as well as who they are becoming in the changing stages of Alzheimer’s disease.”

Since joining English Rose Suites in 2002, Catherine has worked directly with families seeking memory care for their loved ones locally and nationally, providing guidance and support during what all families know is a difficult, stressful and emotional decision.

“When a family can witness through interaction and visits with us that English Rose Suites will provide the best care for their loved one, any stress or guilt they’re feeling melts away,” says Catherine. “I can see the look of relief on family members’ faces when they know they’ve made the right decision for their loved one. They know they can return to being the daughter or son rather than a caregiver.”

Prior to joining the leadership team, Catherine enjoyed more than 25 years as a successful marketing executive in media and direct sales, working for CBS Broadcasting/WCCO Radio in Minneapolis. She joined English Rose Suites to help her sister and owner-operator, Jayne Clairmont, and expected to stay just a few months. Ten years later, Catherine can’t imagine leaving the residents and dedicated team. “This is the best place to work and the best staff to work with – other marketing professionals are envious,” Catherine says.

Through experience and continuous training, Catherine has become a leader in the memory and senior care community, sharing her expertise and passion as a member of numerous boards and leadership groups working to change the fabric of memory care in the country. She serves as a board member for Care Providers of Minnesota, and chairs the Housing and Community Based Services Cabinet and National Center for Assisted Living. As the chair for the Awareness Stigma Reduction and Communication Committee for Preparing Minnesota for Alzheimer’s 2020, Catherine is helping to develop messaging as the state prepares for the significant increase in seniors projected to be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease within the next 10 years.

Catherine is an active member of the Twin Cities Residential Care Providers, Memory Care Professionals of the Twin Cities, Minneapolis Southwest Senior Housing Professionals, Minnesota Association for Guardianship and Conservators, and Aging Services of Minnesota. She also supports the communities in which English Rose Suites homes are located as a member of the Wayzata Rotary and Edina Chamber of Commerce.

“We are truly making a difference in our residents’ and their families lives, and the smiles on their faces is why I’m here,” Catherine says.
