Vicki’s depth and breadth of experience in senior care makes her a natural leader for staff, residents and families in her role as Vice President of Operations. “Working in so many roles over the years has been the biggest benefit to my career today,” Vicki says. “It gives me a passionate perspective on what will be best for our residents.”

In 2002, Vicki relocated from Rochester, Minnesota, to join English Rose Suites as Administrator and was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 2011. “The staff is the heart of English Rose Suites, and I see my role as the person behind them providing the tools and education to be successful,” Vicki says. She supports the consulting arm of English Rose Suites, bringing the organization’s values and best practices to families who are living in their own homes around the country.

Vicki values the hands-on aspect of working for a small business and being able to get a pulse on what’s happening throughout each home every day. Vicki's direct approach regarding resident care, caregiver team building, open communication and strong family communication, along with leadership guidance, are felt throughout the organization. “My philosophy is that you can never communicate too much,” Vicki says. “I enjoy creating a team with the family and the care staff to look ahead and work together to determine the best path for an individual. I love that it’s not a job; I’m on 24/7, and every one of us is so devoted to our residents.”

Prior to English Rose Suites, Vicki worked for eight years in a variety of positions at Karrington/Sunrise Senior Living in Rochester, Minnesota, as a caregiver, Cottage Director, Director of Community Relations and finally as the Executive Director. Vicki gained vital experience with aging, dementia and Alzheimer's, as well as in creating a positive, healthy, nurturing work environment. Her belief in networking and community support created strong partnerships with local health care providers, county social services and the Mayo Clinic.

Vicki has also led support groups through the Alzheimer’s Association. She enjoys spending time with her family and golden retriever, snowshoeing, walking and being outdoors.
